RESOLUTION

RESOLUTION AUTHORIZING THE CITY MANAGER TO ENTER INTO SPECIAL SERVICES AGREEMENTS WITH VDOT ON AN AS-NEEDED BASIS FOR FEDERAL AND STATE-FUNDED ROADWAY IMPROVEMENT PROJECTS

 

WHEREAS, in July of 2005, the City of Hampton was one of three Virginia cities to join the First Cities Initiative for local administration of federal and state-funded roadway improvement projects, and

 

WHEREAS, from time to time, City staff would like to utilize VDOTs staff for such services as traffic planning studies and right of way acquisition assistance on these projects; and

 

WHEREAS, VDOT is willing to provide these services on an as-needed basis subject to the execution of special services agreements with the City; and

 

WHEREAS, in order for the City Manager to be able to execute these special service agreements, VDOT requires City Council authorization.

 

NOW, THEREFORE BE IT RESOLVED that the City Manager is hereby authorized to enter into agreements with VDOT on an as-needed basis for federal and state-funded roadway improvement projects.
