Resolution to Request City Council to Approve Procurement of Software for City Attorney's Office.

 

 

WHEREAS, the City of Hampton City Attorneys Office is in need of case/project assignment management and legal file/document management software to better and more efficiently serve and protect the legal interests of the City Council, City Manager, City Departments; and City Boards and Commissions; and

WHEREAS, a software product titled City Law, developed and marketed by Cycom Data Systems, Inc., appears to be the only software project of this nature immediately available which has been developed for use specifically in the management of municipal legal work.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HAMPTON, VIRGINIA that Cycom Data Systems, Inc. is the only source practically available to readily and effectively provide to the City Attorneys Office the necessary case management and administrative software support specific to local government law practice, and the City Manager or his designee is hereby authorized to negotiate and execute an agreement with Cycom Data Systems, Inc. for that purpose at a cost not to exceed the sum of $45,000.00.
