Resolution authorizing the appropriation of $13,000 from the Economic Development Fund to the Industrial Development Authority to extend sanitary sewer and water lines within Hampton Roads Center North Campus along North Campus Parkway.

 

RESOLUTION

WHEREAS, the Industrial Development Authority of the City of Hampton, Virginia (the Authority) is the owner of approximately 250 acres in Hampton Roads Center North Campus; and

 

WHEREAS, there are currently no other existing sanitary sewer or water stub outs along North Campus Parkway other than those supplying the Virginia Peninsula Association of Realtors (VPAR) site; and

 

WHEREAS, the Authority desires to extend utilities for future connections to the site adjacent to the VPAR site to (i) make the adjacent site more marketable by facilitating utility hookups, (ii) eliminate potential damage to North Campus Parkway and/or the VPAR caused by future construction to access utilities, and (iii) reduce the costs of developing the adjacent site; and

WHEREAS, the City of Hampton would benefit from the enhancement of the property in Hampton Roads Center North Campus and its continuation as a competitive choice for expanding and new companies.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, by the Council of the City of Hampton, Virginia, as follows:

 

1. That it approves the appropriation of $13,000 from the Economic Development Fund to the Industrial Development Authority of the City of Hampton, Virginia to extend sanitary sewer and water lines within Hampton Roads Center North along North Campus Parkway.

 

2. This resolution shall take effect immediately.

Adopted at the regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Hampton, Virginia held on June 14, 2006.
