Ordinance Authorizing the Transfer of Property in Buckroe by the City of Hampton to the Hampton Redevelopment and Housing Authority

 

WHEREAS, the City of Hampton (City) owns three (3) parcels of land in the Buckroe Beach area of the City of Hampton, Virginia which it desires to transfer to the Hampton Redevelopment and Housing Authority (HRHA);

WHEREAS, these sites are generally described as follows:

1. A parcel of land containing approximately 1.365 acres +, bounded by Point Comfort Avenue, 2nd Street, Coaster Way, and 1st Street, RPC # 13002315, shown as Parcel One on a drawing, entitled, Parcel One to be Conveyed to Hampton Redevelopment & Housing Authority;

2. A parcel of land containing approximately .31 acres + located between Mallory and 2nd Streets fronting Pembroke Avenue, RPC # 12006777, shown as Portion of Parcel Three on a drawing entitled, Portion of Parcel Three to be Conveyed to Hampton Redevelopment & Housing Authority; and

3. A parcel of land containing approximately 1.6644 acres +, bounded by 2nd Street, Buckroe Avenue, 1st Street and Boardwalk Way, RPC # 13002312, shown as Parcel Four on a drawing entitled, Parcel Four to be Conveyed to Hampton Redevelopment & Housing Authority; and

WHEREAS, consistent with the 2005 Buckroe Master Plan, as amended, the City desires to transfer title to the three parcels generally described above to the HRHA for redevelopment in accordance with the 2005 Buckroe Master Plan, as amended, and the 2007 Buckroe Bayfront Pattern Book.

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED, by the Council of the City of Hampton, Virginia, as follows:

1. That it approves the transfer to the HRHA of the three parcels of land located in the City of Hampton in the Buckroe Beach area and generally described above in accordance with the 2005 Buckroe Master Plan, as amended, for redevelopment in accordance with the 2005 Buckroe Master Plan, as amended, and the 2007 Buckroe Bayfront Pattern Book; and

2. That the City Manager or his authorized designee and the Clerk be and are authorized to execute and deliver to the HRHA any and all necessary legal documents to effectuate the transfer; such documents shall include, but not be limited to, contracts, deeds, releases for sale and transfer, and conveyance of the three parcels generally described above in the Buckroe Beach area of the City of Hampton, Virginia.

The Ordinance requires an affirmative vote of three-fourths of all of the members elected to Council.
