Ordinance To Amend And Re-Enact
Article 1 Of Chapter 10 Of The Zoning Ordinance Of The City Of Hampton, Virginia Entitled Signs By Amending Section 10-5 Pertaining To Signs Exempt From
Regulation In This Ordinance.
Whereas, the public necessity, convenience, general welfare
and good zoning practice so require;
BE IT ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Hampton, Virginia that
chapter 10 of the Zoning Ordinance of the City of Hampton, Virginia, be amended
and re-enacted as follows:
Signs exempt from regulation in this ordinance.
(1) Official historic markers.
(10) Temporary special event signs. For purposes
of this section, temporary special event signs shall mean signs authorized by a
Special Event Permit issued pursuant to Chapter 26 of the Hampton City Code.
(11) Menu display signs.
(a) Establishments with outdoor seating areas
will be permitted one (1) menu display sign within the designated outdoor
(b) Signs shall not exceed two (2) square feet
in area and four (4) feet in height, shall not contain lighting, and shall be
movable with flat footing.
