Resolution Appropriating $82,000 in Anticipated Revenues from Thomas Nelson Community College to the Capital Projects Fund for a Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon Traffic Signal on Butler Farm Road near Thomas Nelson Community College

 

WHEREAS, The Department of Public Works has studied and determined that a pedestrian beacon traffic signal is warranted on Butler Farm Road at an existing pedestrian crosswalk near Thomas Nelson Community College; and

 

WHEREAS, Thomas Nelson Community College has indicated that they are willing to pay for the initial installation with the City administering and taking over all future maintenance; and

 

WHEREAS, The City and Thomas Nelson Community have executed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on the installation and funding of the pedestrian beacon traffic signal; and

 

WHEREAS, The City Manager recommends an appropriation of $82,000 in anticipated revenues from Thomas Nelson Community College to the Capital Projects Fund for the Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon Traffic Signal Project.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF HAMPTON, VIRGINIA: that $82,000 (Eighty-two Thousand and Zero Cents) in anticipated revenues from Thomas Nelson Community College is hereby appropriated to the Capital Projects Fund for the Pedestrian Hybrid Beacon Traffic Signal Project.

 

Adopted at the regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Hampton, Virginia held on August 14, 2013.
