Hampton Roads Convention Center Post-Construction Architectural
Consulting Services
RESOLUTION
RESOLUTION
A resolution designating the
consulting firm of Hellmuth, Obata and Kassabaum, PC, (HOK) to provide post
construction architectural consulting services for the Hampton Roads Convention
Center, in an amount not to exceed $70,000.
WHEREAS, in 2004, Council approved a resolution increasing
the contract limit for HOKs construction administration services for the
Hampton Roads Convention Center, by $700,000, to $7.2 million; and
WHEREAS, it was previously projected that the construction
contract with W.M. Jordan would be closed out by June 30, 2005 and the cost for
HOKs services had been estimated through that date; and
WHEREAS,
the construction contract is now
expected to be closed out by December 30, 2005; and
WHEREAS, since June 30th, additional HOK services
have been provided such as punch list follow-up and consultation on a number of
quality control and aesthetic features in the building and minor modifications
which were necessary to ensure a higher quality and more functional facility;
and
WHEREAS, HOK services will be needed periodically throughout
the initial year of operation of the building for post construction follow up
consultation; and
WHEREAS, these additional architectural services are
projected to cost approximately $70,000; and
WHEREAS,
funds for these services are
available in the Convention Center project account.
NOW,
THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the
previously authorized $7.2 million contract limit is hereby increased by
$70,000, for post-construction architectural consulting services.

on December 14, 2006.
