Ordinance To Repeal Non-Coded Ordinances #701, #950 and #1044

WHEREAS, by non-coded ordinance #701, adopted on August 22, 1990, certain public areas and streets of the City of Hampton were established as the festival area for the Bay Days celebration and regulations governing certain uses of that area were prescribed;

WHEREAS, by non-coded ordinance #950, adopted August 14, 2002, the dates of the Bay Days celebration were clarified;

WHEREAS, by non-coded ordinance #1044, adopted August 15, 2007, Section II (h) was added to address the operation of golf carts in the festival area and Section II was amended to include punishment information for the new Section II (h); and

WHEREAS, the Council now finds that the need for non-coded ordinances #701, #950 and #1044 would be better addressed by adopting regulations that would apply to all permitted events including Bay Days in Article II of Chapter 26 of the Hampton City Code regarding Parks and Special Events.

NOW THEREFORE, BE IT ORDAINED that by and pursuant to this ordinance, the Council of the City of Hampton, Virginia, hereby repeals non-coded ordinances #701, #950 and #1044 in their entirety. This ordinance shall take effect immediately.

Adopted at the regular meeting of the City Council of the City of Hampton, Virginia held on January 14, 2015.
