Sandra Vinson spoke with respect to the termination of City employees in connection with disaster relief applications made during the time of Hurricane Isabel.

Chris Wyatt spoke concerning the lack of training of eligibility workers who handled disaster relief during the time of Hurricane Isabel.

Rudy Langford requested the appointment of a committee to revisit the facts and to determine whether the investigation by Social Services concerning disaster relief applications by City employees was fair or tainted.

Miscellaneous New Business
  Joan Kennedy gave a verbal summary of the Buckroe Master Plan meeting which was held on October 11, 2005, and indicated she would provide the information in a written format to Council.

Sandra Canepa expressed her concern that her exit survey was not included in the packet she picked up today from Ed Novi.

Councilmember Turner Spencer indicated that he, Councilman Tignor and Councilwoman Leary just returned from the Virginia Municipal League Conference celebrating its 100th Anniversary and it was very successful. Councilman Tignor was elected to serve on the Executive Committee as Chairman of the Urban Section.

Councilwoman Leary echoed Councilmember Turner Spencer's positive comments about the VML Conference. Many there complimented Hampton on the Hurricane Katrina efforts and encouraged any evacuees to register before October 31 when the criteria changes.

The Mayor wished Deputy Clerk Brenda J. Vaccarelli a happy birthday.
