Call to Order
The Mayor called the meeting to order at 1:02 p.m. At the time of roll call, Councilman Gilliland and Councilwoman Leary were not present. Councilman Gilliland arrived at 1:03 p.m. and Councilwoman Leary arrived at 1:14 p.m.
Mayor Ward welcomed the newly elected members of Council, Will Moffett, Chris Stuart, and Donnie Tuck, who will take office on July 1, 2010.
Budget Work Session
Presented by Mary Bunting, City Manager, Chris Snead, Budget Director, and Jimmy Gray, Acting Assistant City Manager.
Ms. Bunting clarified some information from the last Council meeting with respect to the Phoebus Improvement League, Merchants Association of Phoebus, and the Phoebus Civic League.
Councilwoman Leary shared that all military spouses from all branches of the military are invited to a free evening of pampering at the "Evening Under the Stars" event from 5 p.m. until 8 p.m. tonight at the Hampton Roads Convention Center. All military spouses are invited to attend and should bring military identification and are requested to not bring children.
