Regional Issues
New Business
  The City Manager, Mary Bunting, provided a brief update on the difficulties with the Community Services Board voucher system. James Gray, Acting Assistant City Manager, provided Council with a handout of information to help them answer questions from constituents.

Councilman Kearney would like the following areas discussed at a future meeting: dredging, Kearney Park, volunteer fire and rescue recruitment, and the capital project list.

Councilwoman Leary also spoke on her desire for community meetings to begin in July on the dredging and shoreline protection issues. Mayor Ward indicated the City Manager is working on that effort and requested that Councilwoman Leary give her the chance to move forward on the issue and that she work with her comprehensively.

Councilman Gilliland acknowledged the recent passing of Edith Jones of the Southeastern Tidewater Opportunity Project, Inc.

Mayor Ward shared that Frank Roberts, Executive Director of the Hampton Roads Military and Federal Facilities Alliance has given his resignation and a search is taking place for a replacement.
