2.07-0259AN ORDINANCE TO AMEND AND REENACT CHAPTER 41.1 OF THE CODE OF THE CITY OF HAMPTON, VIRGINIA ENTITLED “WETLANDS”, EFFECTIVE JULY 1, 2007.
ACTION: Presented by Sally J. Andrews, Chief Deputy City Attorney. This item is on the evening agenda for a vote.
3.07-0269Process for Possible Referendum: Hampton Roads Transportation Authority.
ACTION: Council discussed this matter and asked that a resolution calling for a referendum be placed on the Council's June agenda. The Mayor asked Vice Mayor Gilliland to work with the City Attorney on the wording for the referendum.
4.07-0231Afternoon work session to discuss the FY08 Manager's Recommended Budget.
ACTION: Council continued their discussion of budget topics which included the possibility of reinstating the boat tax; the possibility of using the increase in revenues from assessments to fund the debt service on a pre-K to 8 school in the Buckroe area; enhancement of Honor Park; possible future acquisition of Selden Farm; completion of the soccer complex on Old Buckroe Road; and an inventory of athletic fields. The budget ordinances are scheduled for second and final reading on the evening agenda.
