Call to Order
  Mayor Ward called the meeting to order at 1:04 p.m. All members of Council were present.
1.13-0004Briefing on the Hampton History Museum: Vision of the Future and Infrastructure Changes Requested to Encourage Growth and Financial Sustainability.
ACTION: Presented by Luci Talbot Cochran, Director of the Hampton History Museum. She was accompanied by the Chairman of their board, Tim Smith, and other board members Jim and Ann Tormey and Gwen Cumming.

Ms. Cochran asked that Council consider a change in policy where donations and membership fees currently being paid to the City of Hampton instead be paid directly to the Hampton History Museum Foundation.

It was the consensus of City Council to agree to the change. The City Attorney will place the appropriate resolution on the February agenda.
2.13-0019Briefing on the Staffing for Adequate Fire & Emergency Response (SAFER) Grant.
ACTION: Presented by David Layman, Fire Chief, and Jason Monk, Deputy Chief. Chief Layman recognized Battalion Chief Bettie Reeves-Noble for her work in securing this grant. Deputy Chief H. Monty Willaford provided some information on an additional grant submission which is pending which may provide assistance with providing protective gear.
