  Mayor Wallace called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. All members of the Council were present except for Councilwoman Snead who is recovering from an illness.

REPORTS BY CITY MANAGER, CITY COUNCIL, STAFF, COMMITTEES
  Councilman Tuck and Councilwoman Schmidt expressed their support of an effort to get a solution for a replacement facility for the Fox Hill Athletic Association for their former facility which was destroyed by a tornado about one year ago.
Miscellaneous New Business
  Vice Mayor Curtis shared an idea that she saw on Facebook for a community in Seattle who are developing a 'food forest' which is similar to community gardens and suggested we pursue such a project in Hampton.

Councilwoman Schmidt shared that the National Foundation of Women Legislators is celebrating women's history and women gaining the right to vote by showing a film Monday, April 13th at 7 p.m. entitled, Iron-Jawed Angels.

Councilman Moffett gave a shout out to his cousin, Nace Tasby, in Michigan.
Public Comment
  Joan Charles spoke on the War Memorial Stadium discussion from the afternoon and shared information from an op-ed in another locality.

Stephen Darlow, a top 10 finalist in a 7-Eleven contest for veterans to win a 7-Eleven franchise. He asked people to visit www.veteransfranchisegiveaway.com and support him as he is very close to third place and the top three finalists will get to interview with 7-Eleven.

Vice Mayor Curtis mentioned that she visited NASA last week with Councilwoman Schmidt for a ceremony honoring the team leaders who worked on the Orion Project. She indicated it was an amazing opportunity. Ms. Bunting added that an Orion capsule is in the Virginia Air & Space Center.
