Mr. Henifin introduced Heather Livingston, Chief Executive of the Hampton Roads Chapter of the American Red Cross; Pat Finneran, Chairman of the Board of Directors; Louis Morris, Immediate Past Chairman; and Molly Joseph Ward, Board Member.

6.06-0506Briefing on a proposed wetlands mitigation easement and declaration of restriction covenants along a portion of Newmarket Creek at Air Power Park to satisfy Joint Permit Approval requirements for the H2O development and a briefing on the relocation of a public storm-drain easement on the H2O site.
ACTION: Presented by Amy Merrill, Redevelopment Manager. The item will be on the Council agenda for September 27, 2006.

ACTION: Presented by Lesa J. Yeatts, Deputy City Attorney. Molly Joseph Ward, Treasurer, and Ross Mugler, Commissioner of the Revenue, also presented information.

ACTION: Moved to establish the City Council's meeting schedule for November and December of 2006 as follows: November 15, 2006, and December 13, 2006.

Council further approved the 2007 meeting schedule as submitted by the Clerk.

11.06-0521Mayor's appointment of Council members to work with group drafting the first Hampton Roads Compact.
ACTION: Presented by Ross A. Kearney, II, Mayor. He asked Vice Mayor Gilliland and Councilman Tignor to work in this capacity and they have agreed.
12.06-0522Discussion regarding the composition of the Hampton Redevelopment and Housing Authority.
ACTION: Council discussed various options and the City Attorney and City Manager will prepare information for Council on the pros and cons of the various options and will also provide comparison information on neighboring localities.

  Gregory M. Twietmeyer asked to address Council and the Mayor explained that citizens didn't address Council during work sessions. Mr. Twietmeyer asked that Council read the information which he left for them.
