2.06-0246Public hearing to receive citizens' comments relative to the Fiscal Year 2007 General Fund, Capital Improvement Fund, Solid Waste Management Fund, Stormwater Management Fund, Wastewater Management Fund, E-911 Fund, EXCEL Fund, The Hamptons, Economic Development Fund and Hampton Roads Convention Center budgets.
ACTION: Held Public Hearing - Thirty four (34) individuals addressed Council.
3.06-0240Public Hearing to receive citizens' comments relative to the proposed decrease in the Real Estate Property Tax from $1.20 per $100 assessed value to $1.17 per $100 assessed value.
ACTION: Held Public Hearing - Jack Pendleton addressed Council.
Budget Ordinances - First Reading
4.06-0271An ordinance to set the tax rate on real properties in the City of Hampton, Virginia, for the fiscal year beginning July 1, 2006 and ending June 30, 2007.
ACTION: Adopted on First Reading - Prior to the first reading of the budget ordinances, Vice Mayor Spencer read a statement on behalf of Mayor Kearney explaining the voting process on the proposed budget and that tonight's vote is only the first reading and modifications will be made before the second and final reading next week.
