Call to Order - Molly Joseph Ward, Mayor
Mayor Ward called the meeting to order at approximately 8:45 a.m. The delay in beginning was due to severe bad weather. Upon the calling of the roll, it was noted that the only members of Council who were present were Mayor Ward, Councilman Kearney and Councilman Wallace. Due to the absence of a quorum, Mayor Ward adjourned the meeting.
The following individuals were in attendance:
Legislators: Delegate Mamye E. BaCote, Delegate Thomas D. Gear, Senator Mamie E. Locke, Senator John Miller, and Delegate Jeion Ward
Hampton City Council: Mayor Molly Joseph Ward, Councilman Ross Kearney, and Councilman George Wallace
Hampton School Board: Chairman Fred Brewer, Henry Godfrey, Linwood Harper, Phyllis Taylor Henry, Martha Mugler, William "Dave" Pearson, and Lennie Routten
City of Hampton Staff: Interim City Manager Jim Oliver, Assistant City Manager John Eagle, Clerk of Council Katherine K. Glass, City Attorney Cynthia Hudson, Director of Intergovernmental Affairs Elizabeth Kersey, and Executive Assistant Shelley Shifflett
Hampton City Schools Staff: Superintendent Dr. Linda Shifflette, Director of Community and Legislative Services Ann Bane, Clerk to the School Board Carolyn Bowers, Director of Instructional Accountability Paula Brown, Deputy Superintendent Dr. G.
