Call to Order
Discussion of Process for the Appointment of a Successor for Councilman Rhet Tignor.
Council discussed how the process will work in selecting a successor for Councilman Tignor. Applicants must express their interest by noon on Friday, September 14, 2007, and the information will be submitted to Council that evening. The applicants will be invited to address Council for five minutes at the beginning of Council's afternoon work session on Wednesday, September 26, 2007. During Council's closed session, there will be a discussion of the applicants, and during the evening meeting, the Mayor will relay to the public the results of the afternoon discussion. On October 1, 2007, at 12 noon a special session of Council will be held to vote to fill the vacancy and this will be followed by the oath of office being administered by the Clerk of Court.
