Call to Order
  Mayor Wallace called the meeting to order at 9:03 a.m. All members of City Council were present at roll call except for Councilwoman Schmidt.
Closed Meeting
15-0224Closed session pursuant to Virginia Code Section 2.2-3711.A.1, .3, .5, and .7 to discuss appointment(s) as listed on the agenda; to discuss the evaluation of the City Manager, the City Attorney and the Clerk of Council; to discuss or consider the acquisition of real property for a public purpose in the Coliseum Central Area where discussion in an open meeting would adversely affect the bargaining position or negotiating strategy of the City Council; to discuss a prospective business or industry or the expansion of an existing business or industry where no previous announcement has been made of the business' or industry's interest in locating or expanding its facilities in the City of Hampton; to discuss actual or probable litigation; and to consult with legal counsel regarding specific legal matters requiring the provision of legal advice by such counsel.
ACTION: Approved - motion not voted upon due to amended motion

MOVER: Councilmember Chris Snead.
SECONDER: Councilmember W. H. "Billy" Hobbs, Jr..
ACTION: Moved to amend closed session motion to include a discussion of the Martin Luther King committee.

MOVER: Councilmember Linda Curtis.
SECONDER: Councilmember Will Moffett.
ACTION: Council recessed closed session at 12:52 p.m. and moved to Council Chambers. Councilwoman Schmidt arrived during the first portion of the closed session. Council reconvened closed session at 3:15 p.m. and recessed it again at 6:20 p.m. Following the evening session at about 8 p.m., Council reconvened the closed session and adjourned at 8:53 p.m.
