Call to Order
1.07-0502Presentations by Candidates for Council Vacancy Created by the Retirement of Councilman Rhet Tignor.
ACTION: Council heard presentations from 17 applicants.
2.07-0503Resolution Authorizing the Issuance of General Obligation Public Improvement and Refunding Bonds of the City of Hampton in the Maximum Principal Amount of $160,000,000 to Redeem the City’s Series 2007 Bond Anticipation Notes and to Finance Certain Capital Improvement Projects and Providing for the Form, Details and Payment of Such Bonds and Authorizing the Issuance of Notes of the City in Anticipation of the Issuance of Such Bonds.
- Bond Counsel was available for questions from Council. The City Attorney introduced George Scruggs of Troutman Sanders. A vote on this matter is on the evening agenda.

3.07-0533Motion to approve contract and salaries for the Clerk of Council, City Attorney and City Manager.

  Councilman Tignor raised a couple of questions following his review of the Taxi Study.

07-0469to discuss the applicants for an upcoming Council vacancy allowing for the protection of the privacy of the individuals in personal matters not related to public business.

07-0528to discuss the acquisition of property for a public purpose in the Downtown Hampton area, where discussion in an open meeting would adversely affect the negotiating strategy or bargaining position of the City.

07-0530to discuss a personnel matter involving the Hampton History Museum.

07-0487to consider appointments to the Peninsula Stadium Authority.

07-0512to consider appointments to the Neighborhood Commission

07-0534to discuss acquisition of property in the Fox Hill area of the City for a public purpose where discussion in an open session would adversely affect the City's bargaining position or negotiating strategy and to consult with legal counsel employed by the City regarding land use matters which require the advice of such counsel.
