MAYOR'S COMMENTS
  The Mayor made brief comments with respect to graduation rates from High School and his concern that many students who enter the ninth grade in Hampton do not graduate with their class four years later. He invited the public to attend a meeting on Wednesday, October 18, 2006, at 7 p.m. in the Council Chambers. The purpose of the meeting will be for the Mayor to hear citizens' thoughts on this issue.

  David Braunbeck thanked the City for their work in repairing the sidewalks.

Councilman Washington reminded everyone of the Phoebus Days Parade on Saturday, October 14, 2006.

Mayor Kearney also indicated that there will be a chili cook-off in Mill Point Park on Saturday, October 14, 2006, and the dedication of the Mill Point Dock which will take place on Saturday at 3 p.m.

Councilwoman Leary also invited the public to attend a meeting on assisting the victims of Tropical Storm Ernesto. The meeting will take place on October 12th at 3 p.m. in Council Chambers.
