Call to Order
Citizen Concern about the use of Diabold Accu-Vote TSX voting machines in Hampton.
Council listened to the concerns of Robert Stumm. The Voting Registrar for the City of Hampton, Theresa R. Kyle, was present and also provided information.
An Ordinance to Amend and Re-Enact Chapter 2, “Administration”, Article II, “City Council”, Division 2, “Meetings”, Section 2-43 of the Code of the City of Hampton, Virginia, entitled, “Order of Business – Regular Meetings.”
Presented by Cynthia Hudson, City Attorney. This item is on the evening agenda for first reading.
Ordinance to Amend and Reenact Chapter 37, Article II, Division I of the Code of the City of Hampton entitled "Real Estate Taxes, Generally", by adding thereto a New Section 37-31 entitled "Surplus Proceeds Paid to the City from Delinquent Real Estate Tax Sales".

Councilman Tignor spoke briefly about the Manager's Weekly Activity Report being discontinued. He requested that the report be reinstated or that all Council members be provided with copies of information sent to other Council members. A short discussion followed.
Councilwoman Leary asked that the City Manager check into the City's compliance with the Chesapeake Bay Local Assistance Board and report back in September.
Mayor Kearney asked that the City Manager look into a problem that some waterfront owners are experiencing.
