Call to Order
  Vice Mayor Wallace called the meeting to order at 1:03 p.m. and shared that the Mayor's arrival was delayed as she was attending the funeral of a dear family friend.

ACTION: Presented by Mary Bunting, City Manager.
3.11-0003Briefing on the Status of Fort Monroe
ACTION: Presented by Mary Bunting, City Manager. This item was taken out of order to allow the Mayor to arrive before the discussion of the Council Policy Manual.
Regional Issues
  Councilman Kearney spoke as Hampton's liasion to the Peninsula Regional Jail Authority. Roy Cherry, the Director of the Regional Jail, has announced his retirement. Councilman Kearney has been working on the search committee for a new Superintendent and expressed his appreciation of the supportive efforts of Hampton's Human Resources Department in this search.
New Business
  Mayor Ward called upon the City Manager who indicated that, during a meeting yesterday, the topic of what could be done to assist residents to be displaced from the Buckroe Trailer Park was discussed. She shared that there are services available through Hampton's Human Services Department and these services are equally available to any citizen in any area of Hampton in a similar circumstance. Wanda Rogers, Director of Human Services, gave a presentation on the services and assistance which are available.

Councilwoman Leary announced that she will have a town hall meeting on Thursday, January 27, 2011, at 6:30 p.m. at Phoebus Auction House for the public to ask questions of the Fort Monroe Authority. The speakers from the Fort Monroe Authority will be Kimberly Merritt, Property Manager, Real Estate and Josh Gillespie, AICP, Project Manager. There will possibly be another meeting on February 16, 2011, where the speaker is Cherilyn E. Widell, Director of Heritage Assets and Historic Preservation Officer, but this is not yet confirmed.
