CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL
  Mayor Wallace called the meeting to order at 6:32 p.m. with all members of the City Council present.
INVOCATION - Councilwoman Teresa Schmidt
  Councilwoman Schmidt gave the invocation.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO FLAG -
MAYOR'S COMMENTS
  Mayor Wallace spoke about the individuals recognized at the Spotlight on Citizens tonight. They were individuals who had volunteered to clean up and maintain local privately-owned cemeteries.

He then read excerpts from letters he has received from first grade students in Hampton.

Vice Mayor Curtis recognized Cassie Donegan, a local young person, who established a fine arts scholarship in memory of a friend who passed away.

REPORTS BY CITY MANAGER, CITY COUNCIL, STAFF, COMMITTEES
  Councilman Tuck complimented Councilman Moffett on his recent civil rights movement speech. He also complimented the Performing Arts CORRECT NAME on a recent performance as well as Beauty for Ashes. Councilman Tuck went on to recognize Dina Broughton of Hampton High School on a recent oratorical award and congratulated Dr. William Harvey and Hampton University on Founders Day mentioning that he will be a featured guest on C-Span on February 5th.
Miscellaneous New Business
Public Comment
  Lindy Seely spoke about the need to fill an Animal Control Technician position. Heiko Schroder suggested that animal control staff trap cats at the back of restaurants. Gabrielle Burnett was called but not present to speak.
