  Mayor Ward recognized Sam Templeman, a Boy Scout in the audience working on his citizenship award.

  The invocation was given by Councilwoman Leary.

  The Pledge of Allegiance was led by members of Girl Scout Troops 1017 and 1116. Alexandra Hoen, a 7th grader from St. Mary's Star of the Sea School, reminded those in attendance that the annual cookie sale is underway.

Audiences Granted to the General Public
  Frank J. Ottofaro spoke about the taking of his property on Pine Chapel Road.

Robert W. Nuckles spoke on the absence of prayer in public schools.

Hugh Bassette spoke requesting a discussion of district elections.

Chris Jacobson, Vice President of the Buckroe Civic Association spoke in encouragement of the collaborative discussions which have recently taken place concerning development in Buckroe and specifically the Parade of Homes proposal.

Miscellaneous New Business
  Councilman Wallace spoke in response to Mr. Bassette's comments regarding the ward or district voting system and expressed that Council will be responding.

Councilwoman Leary referred to Mr. Bassette's comments at the last Council meeting regarding assessments as reflected in the minutes from the December meeting which were approved tonight. Councilwoman Leary provided research which she has done on the properties identified by Mr. Bassette and on other assessments.

Councilwoman Leary also shared information on neighboring localities and whether they have districts, wards or at-large systems.
