1.08-0208Discussion of the FY-09 Budget.
ACTION: Presented by Mary Bunting, Assistant City Manager.

Items discussed by Council included public safety competitive pay, the Virginia Scholarship and Youth Development, The Denbigh House, adding back 25% to outside agencies, funding for the Hampton Cup Regatta, and enhancing the budget of volunteer fire companies.

A discussion of the scenarios with a tax rate of $1.05 or $1.06 also took place.

The consensus of Council was to remain with a tax rate of $1.04.
