Public Hearing on Petition of Qualified Voters Under the Hampton City Charter [Section 3A-6] to Revise Section 2-311, Article XIII, of the Code of Hampton

Call to Order
  Following Roll Call, Vice Mayor Spencer led the Pledge of Allegiance and offered an invocation.

Mayor Ward welcomed those in attendance and announced that public Wi-Fi is now available in Hampton City Council Chambers and in other hot spots. Information on these areas is available at: http:\\

ACTION: Council heard from Mayor Ward as she introduced the item and provided background information for those in attendance. Additionally she read the text of a proposed Resolution and copies were distributed to those in attendance.

2.09-0385Ordinance to Amend and Reenact Article XIII, Section 2-311 of Chapter 2 of the Code for the City of Hampton entitled “Fort Monroe Federal Area Development Authority” as proposed by the Citizen Initiative Petition filed pursuant to Hampton City Charter §3A-6 et seq.
ACTION: Held Public Hearing - There were 16 speakers on the issue.
ACTION: Moved to amend the ordinance as restated.
