CALL TO ORDER/ROLL CALL
  Mayor Wallace called the meeting to order at 6:42 p.m. All members of the City Council were present.
INVOCATION - Councilman Donnie R. Tuck
  Councilman Tuck invited those present to have a moment of silence.
PLEDGE OF ALLEGIANCE TO FLAG -
MAYOR'S COMMENTS
  Mayor Wallace introduced individuals who will be travelling to Hampton's Sister City of Anyang, South Korea to participate at a commemorative ceremony hosted by the Korean-American Friendship Association of Anyang. The Mayor of Anyang sent an official letter requesting a Korean War Veteran from Hampton and Richard Mofield and his daughter, Diane Mofield, both who served in the military and were stationed in Korea during a portion of their careers. This trip is being funded by Anyang, South Korea.

Mayor Wallace also congratulated Ross Mugler, Hampton's Commissioner of the Revenue on the honor of receiving the Sam T. Barfield Award of Excellence last night at the annual conference of the Commissioners of the Revenue Association of Virginia.

9.15-0289Motion to appoint Mary Bunting to the Fort Monroe Authority to fill the unexpired portion of a term to commence immediately and conclude on June 30, 2016, and to appoint Chris Snead as Hampton's alternate to the Hampton Roads Transportation Planning Organization (HRTPO).
ACTION: Appointed Mary Bunting to the Fort Monroe Authority to fill the unexpired portion of a term which will conclude on June 30, 2016, and Councilwoman Chris Snead as Hampton's alternate on the Hampton Roads Transportation Planning Organization.

Public Comment
  John Krulis spoke on continuing the exemption on real estate taxes for the elderly and disabled. He also encouraged people to volunteer for the Meals on Wheels program.

Councilman Tuck thanked the Hampton Convention and Visitors Bureau for bringing in the National Carousel Association to town last week.

Vice Mayor Curtis reminded all of the Crawlin' Crab which will take place October 2 - 4. The Hampton Fire Division will host a chili cookoff downtown on October 3.

Mayor Wallace indicated that Hampton is also hosting the 458th Sea Tigers, a Viet Nam veterans reunion group and two of their boats are on display at the piers in Downtown Hampton.
