Call to Order
Mayor Wallace called the meeting to order at 1:01 p.m. All members of City Council were present except for Councilman Stuart.
Presentation on Cities United - Why We Can't Wait - A Convening for Mayors Committed to Eliminating Violence Related Deaths of African American Males.
Presented by Councilman Moffett; Vice Mayor Curtis; Rev. Steve Brown, Co-Chair of the Citizens Action Coalition; Myra Chambers, Director of Alternative Education for Hampton City Schools; and James Payne, a young leader in our community.
FY 15 Budget Preview: Budget Overview
Presented by Robin McCormick, Communications Strategist, and Mary Bunting, City Manager.
Councilman Tuck distributed photographs of some housing in Hampton and had some questions concerning assessments and how they are done.
The City Manager announced that we just learned from the National Civic League that Hampton has been announced as one of twenty-five finalists for the All American City award. Hampton is one of only two cities from Virginia invited to be in this finalist round.
