Call to Order
Mayor Wallace called the meeting to order at 1:03 p.m. All members of the city Council were present. The Mayor welcomed Councilwoman Snead back home.
Budget Work Session
Presented by Martha Mugler, School Board Chair with respect to the Hampton City Schools budget. She was accompanied by Dr. Linda Shifflette, Superintendent of Schools; Suzanna C. Scott
Deputy Superintendent, Operations & Support (Hampton City Schools); and School Board members Joe Kilgore and Monica Smith.
Nicole Clark, Human Resources Director, presented information on the compensation proposal.
Brian DeProfio, Director of Budget and Strategic Initiatives, presented on the boat license fee. Ross Mugler, Commissioner of the Revenue, also provided information.
Closed session pursuant to Virginia Code Sections 2.2-3711.A.1 and .3 to discuss a personnel matter involving the City Attorney's office and to consider the acquisition of real property for a public purpose, or the disposition of publicly held real property, in the Fox Hill/Buckroe, Downtown, and Wythe/Kecoughtan Road areas where discussion in an open meeting would adversely affect the bargaining position or negotiating strategy of the City.
